Yukai’s cozy mohair blend is handcrafted on manual knitting machines. It is time-consuming, but the result is what counts. Because only through our hand-knitting process do the pieces gain this airiness and cozy character.
This popular material has been in our collections for 20 years and is characterized by its lightness, durability, and warming properties.

Optimal, value-preserving care for a high-quality product
1. Protect your garments
We recommend placing products made from fine animal hair in a laundry bag or pillowcase. Ensure the bag is properly closed. To provide even more protection, throw a few towels into the washing machine as "cushioning." Please do not add anything that could cause damage (e.g., jeans, T-shirts with any kind of patches, etc.). Naturally, only wash garments with similar colors.
2. Use only wool/delicate detergent
It is important to choose a neutral detergent developed for delicate animal hair products (e.g., Tenemoll from our webshop). We recommend avoiding the use of fabric softeners.
3. Pay attention to water temperature
Use only cool water for the wash and rinse cycles. Hot water not only causes discoloration but also damages the delicate fine animal fibers and makes them shrink.
4. Choose a gentle program
Always set your washing machine to the wool or hand wash cycle (max. 30°) to prevent stretching or twisting of the items. If you can choose a spin cycle on your washing machine, make sure to select the shortest one possible or stop the spin process manually.
5. Do not use a tumble dryer
Never use a tumble dryer for your fine animal hair products. Lay your washed garments on a flat surface to dry. Make sure to avoid direct sunlight or other heat sources that could cause damage. We recommend turning the pieces over at least once so they can dry thoroughly on both sides.
