Material: Non-oxidizing stainless steel springs
The Story:
In February 1987, architecture student Tiziana Redavid visited a friend's factory in Turin, which manufactured industrial springs. The production halls were covered with coiled wires.
The young student was fascinated and, playing with her imagination, adorned her wrists with the objects. She quickly discovered the resemblance to African art and the idea arose to reinterpret the industrial objects as pieces of jewelry.
A bracelet, for example, is made of 97 stainless steel springs, which adapt comfortably and lightly to the wearer's wrist. 97 springs for the launch year of “La Mollla®”, 1997.
“La Molla” is the Italian name for spring, which became the brand name of her label. The three “lll” are reminiscent of the dynamic movement of a spring.
With a well-thought-out strategy, the bracelet was launched for the first time in Paris. Soon after, the fashion capitals of London, New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles ……. also discovered “La Mollla” for themselves.
The press celebrated the creative jewelry as the discovery of the century.
