Thanks to its long-fiber structure, Merino wool is extremely resistant to pilling and shrinking. This means the garment retains its shape and quality over time. Another notable advantage of Merino wool is its high self-cleaning ability, enabled by the natural wool wax lanolin. This makes the garment dirt-repellent and prevents unpleasant odors. By simply airing it out after wear, you can preserve the freshness of the natural fibers and reduce the need for washing.
Care: Hand wash
Optimal, value-preserving care for a valuable product
1. Protect your clothes
We recommend placing products made with fine pet hair in a wash bag or pillowcase. Make sure the bag is properly closed. For even more protection, throw a few towels into the washing machine as cushioning. Please do not add anything that could cause damage (e.g., jeans, T-shirts with any kind of patches, etc.). Of course, only wash clothes of similar colors.
2. Use only delicate wool detergent
It's important to choose a neutral detergent formulated for delicate pet hair products (e.g., Tenemoll from our webshop). We recommend avoiding the use of fabric softeners.
3. Pay attention to the water temperature
Only use cooler water for the wash and rinse cycles. Hot water not only discolors but also damages delicate, fine pet hair and causes it to shrink.
4. Choose a gentle program
Always set your washing machine to the wool or handwash cycle (max. 30°C) to prevent stretching or twisting of the garments. If your washing machine also offers a spin cycle, make sure to select the shortest possible spin cycle or manually stop the spin cycle.
5. Do not use a dryer
Never use a dryer on your fine pet hair products. Lay your washed garments on a flat surface to dry. Be careful to avoid direct sunlight or other heat sources that could cause damage. We recommend turning the items at least once to ensure they dry thoroughly on both sides.
